Srinagar, July 3: Bharti Airtel has expanded its mobile network coverage along the Amarnath Yatra route, enhancing connectivity for pilgrims, security personnel and local authorities during the annual pilgrimage.
The telecom company said it has deployed new network sites at Chandanwari, Pissu Top and Betaab Valley, extending coverage along the Pahalgam route in addition to its existing network at Baltal, ensuring improved voice and data services up to the holy cave shrine.
The expansion was carried out in coordination with the government and local administration to strengthen communications infrastructure during the Yatra. Airtel said the enhanced network will support reliable communication, emergency services and digital access for millions of pilgrims.
Vikram RS, Chief Operating Officer, Jammu and Kashmir, Bharti Airtel, said the company remains committed to providing seamless connectivity even in challenging terrains.
He said the expansion across both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes reflects Airtel’s continued investment in Jammu and Kashmir and its commitment to keeping pilgrims, security personnel and authorities connected throughout the pilgrimage.
The company said the initiative is part of its broader efforts to bridge connectivity gaps and support India’s digital transformation.
