Srinagar: Srinagar Lok Sabha MP and senior National Conference leader Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi has said he will resign from the party and as Member of Parliament on November 3.
Ruhullah said he will step down as MP from the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency on November 3, which marks the 26th death anniversary of his father, Aga Syed Mehdi, who was killed by terrorists.
Ruhullah has for months been urging the NC leadership to change its course of action and address public issues, particularly the demand for restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status.
After months of speculation, the senior NC leader has now confirmed his decision to quit the party and Parliament in November.
