Army organises several programs across JK to celebrate Int’l Women’s’ Day

Jammu, Mar 07: The Indian Army stationed in Kashmir Valley on Friday organised several programmes across the valley to celebrate International Women’s Day.

An official spokesperson said the Army at Wussan hosted a series of engaging activities and initiatives aimed at fostering awareness, promoting empowerment, and inspiring a positive change.

“From conducting Self Defence Workshop for College girls to organising visit for the underprivileged girls, the Army has reached all spheres and domains to promote Women Empowerment,” spokesperson said in the statement.

He informed that major events launched at Wussan included Khairiyat Patrol which provided medical aid for old women in remote areas, educational tour for underprivileged girls from remote areas to Manasbal Lake, Health and Wellness Initiatives for women health and well-being and most noted the self-defence workshop for school and college girls.

The spokesperson further stated that while celebrating the cultural heritage of the region with a primary aim of showcasing achievements of women, events such as cultural performances, poetry recitation and skit on social issues were also organised throughout the week.

He said the unique joint initiatives of the Awam and Indian Army in the Valley aim to inspire, empower, and uplift women to their full potential for shaping a brighter tomorrow for generations to come.
