DDAC Bandipora organises Drug De-Addiction Awareness Event
Bandipora, March 2: District Drug De-Addiction Centre (DDAC) Bandipora on Saturday organised yet another Awareness Program on Drug De-Addiction at the ICDS Centre Manzpora Aloosa, Bandipora.
An official spokesperson said the event was held under the NMBA Action Plan of the District and was held in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare Bandipora, and the Implementing Agency-JKSWM.
The event witnessed a significant turnout of participants comprising students, ICDS workers, ASHAAs and local youth.
As per the official spokesperson, various speakers addressed various aspects of drug de-addiction during the event. Sameena Shafi, Nurse, DDAC, provided an insightful overview of the drug addiction scenario in Bandipora, while as Jawhar Ahmad, ORW, DDAC, shared her first-hand experiences working with drug victims, focusing on identifying signs and symptoms of addiction.
Another speaker, Aasif Bashir, Supervisor, DDAC, emphasized the critical role of teachers, frontline workers, community members, and students in addressing the issue of drug addiction, highlighting the collective responsibility to combat this menace at individual levels.
The event concluded with a collective pledge to combat drug addiction in society. Attendees were also provided with posters and pamphlets outlining the detrimental effects of drug abuse and the facilities and services available at DDAC.
