Police rescues Pregnant women amid heavy snowfall in Sopore

Sopore, Feb 20: In a commendable display of swift action, Police in north Kashmir’s Sopore rescued a pregnant woman amid heavy snowfall Tuesday from Zethan to PHC Dangiwacha.  

Sopore Police in a statement said that it received a distress call from Shamshad Ahmad Mir resident of Zethan Dangiwacha, requesting for urgent rescue and medical evacuation of his pregnant wife who was in critical condition. 

“Due to heavy snowfall from the last two days, the road was completely blocked and the movement of vehicles was very difficult,” it said.

“Upon receiving the distress call, a police party led by SHO PS Dangiwacha, quickly reached the location. Despite the difficult conditions, including treacherous roads, the rescue team evacuated the pregnant woman in the official vehicle to PHC Dangiwacha for immediate medical treatment,” it said.

It also said that the locals, particularly the family members of the pregnant woman, expressed gratitude and admiration for the prompt response and timely assistance provided by Police during this critical situation.
