Awantipora, October 26: Awantipora Police have launched a crackdown against illegal mining, seizing five heavy L&T machines from Bathen under Police Station Khrew and four dumpers from Patalbagh and Galander under Police Station Pampore, officials said.
In this connection, FIR No. 84/2026 has been registered at Police Station Khrew, while FIR Nos. 93/2026 and 94/2026 have been registered at Police Station Pampore under relevant provisions of law. Investigations have been taken up.
Police said the action is part of its ongoing drive against illegal mineral extraction and transportation and warned those involved in such activities of strict legal action.
Awantipora Police urged the public to share credible information regarding illegal mining and other criminal activities with the Police District Headquarters helpline at 7051404859, through email at dpoawantipore@jkpolice.gov.in, or with the nearest police unit.
Police said the identity of persons sharing such information would be kept confidential.
