Gamroo residents demand macadamisation of link roads

Bandipora, Mar 28: Locals of Gamroo village in Bandipora have urged the Roads and Buildings (R&B) department to macadamize the road at Gamroo locality this year.
Locals told that the 3-kilometers stretch of road is in shambles and dotted with potholes giving trouble to the travelers. The road also leads to Makhdoom Sahib Shrine that witnesses huge rush daily. They said that the distance that can be covered in ten minutes is covered in more than half an hour owing to potholes all over the road.
The road is dotted with huge potholes and has not been repaired since long and the authorities are least bothered about the sufferings of people, residents said.
Mohammad Ismail Dar a resident of Gamroo said that they are suffering due to the indifferent attitude of the R&B department towards the village and they are least bothered about their health and hygiene as bumpy roads have become hazardous for them.
“We apprised the Roads and Buildings (R&B) department a number of times for our genuine demands but all in vain as the concerned department failed to repair the road,” they said.
Mushtaq Ahmad, a Sarpanch, of area said rain showers cause water logging in the area nobody is paying any attention towards it and the road is in shambles.
An official at the R&B division, Bandipora told that the road is already in project and work restoration and macadamization process will start in coming season.
