District Pancak Silath championship kick started in Bandipora

Bandipora, 07 FEB : The District Pancak Silath championship was kick started in Bandipora on Sunday. The championship is being organized District Pencak Silat Association Bandipora.
    The championship was inaugurated by Lieutenant Colonel Arshadeep of 14th Rashtriya Rifles in presence of Major S Negi and Major Rohit Nair at Army Goodwill School Bandipora. 


    In a statement issued to the Kashmir Convener, spokesperson said the aim of organizing the championship is to further boost the sports environment in Bandipora.
He said the event will be conducted for a period of two days in which 146 children in different age category are participating. “The event witnessed participation of youth from various parts of Bandipora district to include Sumbal, Ajas, Aloosa, Banakoot, Aragam and Bandipora clubs”. 
“This competition is indeed a great opportunity for the youth of Bandipora to build a career in this particular Martial arts game which is recognized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India,” the statement reads.
