Bandipora, Jan 27: Govt Degree College Ajas on Wednesday organized an online extension lecture/webinar titled “The duties of citizens in the light of Indian Constitution”.
The programme was presided over by the College Principal Dr Parveen Kousar and was coordinated by Irshad Afaqui, Assistant Professor and Convener of the Debate. The programme was attended by all the students of the college, the faculty members of GDC Bandipora, many dignitaries and non-teaching staff of the college.
In a statement issued to Kashmir Convener, coordinator said the programme was formally started with the inaugural speech of Irshad Afaqui stating the importance of this event. The event commenced with the welcome of distinguished guests especially the speaker and resource person of the occasion by Dr Parveen Kousar, Principal of the Host College.
The speaker and resource person of the programme was Shabeer Ahmad Parry, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, GDC Bandipora. Shabeer Ahmad delivered a detailed lecture on the said topic and explained legal and ethical duties, state and individual rights, rights v/s duties and fundamental duties, etc. A Question-Answer Session was held at the end wherein students posed their questions and queries which were satisfactorily answered.
The event was successfully concluded with vote of thanks by Irshad Ahmad Peerzada to all the dignitaries and participants.
