Bandipora police tightens noose of traffic rules violators
Smooth flow of traffic priority, the co-operation of locals being sought: Police
Bandipora, Dec 28: Police in north Kashmir’s Bandipora town has intensified its campaign to curb violation of traffic rules in the district and several vehicles have been seized while several violators have also been penalized and booked under different sections of law.
Station House Officer Bandipora, Mir Showket said that the special squads have been constituted to ensure implementation of traffic rules so that smooth flow of traffic is ensured in crowded areas of Bandipora town.
He said efforts are on to seek the co-operation of the locals especially daily commuters, who would otherwise unnecessarily get stuck in traffic jams, in which they were largely succeeding. The officer while urging people to act more responsibly while being behind the wheels said that there is a need to find a concrete solution to this problem in the market areas. He advised the commuters to opt for carpooling, going on foot to nearby areas and making use of public transport instead of private ones.
