Srinagar, Dec 29 : An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in outskirts of Srinagar on Tuesday evening.
Reports said that a gunfight broke out at Hokarsar area of Umarbad outskirts of Srinagar.
The official said that forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following inputs about the presence of militants. "As searching party encircled the target house, hidding militants fired upon them thus triggering a gunfight," an official said.
As per sources two militants are belived to be trapped in the area. Firing from both sides was on when last reports came in.
