Mughal Road gunfight: Slain militants had sneaked-in recently, say officials
'Presence of more militants in the area can't be ruled out'
Poonch, Dec 13 : The two slain foreign militants from Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) seem to have infiltrated from the Line of Control (LoC) recently while the security forces are suspecting presence of more militants in the area, officials said on Sunday.
Officials said that two militants who were killed at Poshana along Mughal Road seemed to have infiltrated from Line of Control in recent days.
"Militant associate from Shopian arrested during encounter was reportedly in touch with handlers in Pakistan and he received the group of militants somewhere in the area and was tasked to accompany them to Kashmir Valley," the officials said.
They added that the recent ceasefire violation on Line of Control in Poonch is being suspected as the period when militants might have infiltrated.
Officials added that mostly militants infiltrate in number more than three and this is giving a suspicion to the forces that there may be presence of more militants in the area—(KNO)
