Two injured in bear attack at Batdalaw Khrew

PAMPORE, October 08: Two persons were injured when bear attacked them in Khrew area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday morning.

Officials told Kashmir Convener that the wild bear attacked and injured two persons in the morning hours at Batdalaw, Khrew, near their residence.

The injured have been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Bajad, son of Mohammad Yaqoob Bajad, and Mohammad Faqi Bajad, son of Mohammad Dawood Bajad, both residents of Batdalaw, Khrew.

Following the attack, both injured persons were shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Pampore for medical treatment.

BMO Pampore Dr. Yousuf Ul Majid Confirmed to Kashmir Convener that the two injured persons were brought to SDH Pampore for treatment following the bear attack. After receiving treatment, both injured persons were referred to Srinagar Hospital and their condition is stable.

Wildlife department Range Khrew officials told Kashmir Convener that soon after the incident, the Wildlife Department’s Range Khrew team rushed to the spot and launched a search operation to trace and locate the wild bear.
