REC Limited gets first prize for official language policy implementation

New Delhi, September 2: REC Limited has been awarded the first prize by the Ministry of Power for outstanding implementation of the Official Language Policy for 2025-26.

The award was presented by Union Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal at a meeting of the Hindi Salahkar Samiti of the Ministry of Power. REC CMD Jitendra Shrivastava, IAS, received the award on behalf of the organisation.

Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik, former Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma, Lok Sabha MP Suresh Kumar Kashyap and Power Secretary Pankaj Agrawal were also present.

REC secured the distinction among Central Public Sector Enterprises, subordinate offices and other organisations under the Ministry of Power.

The award recognises REC’s sustained efforts to promote and effectively implement Hindi as the official language, including compliance with the provisions of the Official Language Policy and initiatives encouraging the use of Hindi across the organisation.

REC said the recognition reflects the collective efforts of its officers and employees and highlights the organisation’s commitment to promoting Hindi and strengthening its official language practices at the national level.
