Mahila Congress Conducts Women’s Outreach in Shangus, Raises Issues of Health and Dignity

Anantnag, August 29: The District Mahila Congress Anantnag organised a grassroots women’s outreach programme in the Shangus Assembly Constituency, focusing on issues concerning women’s health, dignity, rights and empowerment.

District Mahila Congress Anantnag President Humaira Gulzar, along with State General Secretary Smt. Satnam Kaur, interacted with women from different areas of the constituency and distributed sanitary pads during the programme.

The interaction provided an opportunity for women to share concerns related to their everyday lives. The organisers listened to the issues raised by the participants and assured them that genuine concerns would be taken up with the appropriate authorities and platforms.

Humaira Gulzar said that meaningful women’s empowerment requires sustained engagement at the grassroots and greater attention to issues that directly affect women’s health, dignity and participation in society.

The programme was aimed at strengthening direct engagement with women and ensuring that their concerns find greater representation in the public discourse.
