Budgam, August 28: Army Camp Nagam organised a medical camp in Nilnag village of Budgam district to provide healthcare services to residents of the remote area, officials said.
Army medical teams examined residents during the outreach programme and provided prescription medicines free of cost. The camp was attended by elderly residents, women and children from Nilnag and nearby areas.
The initiative was aimed at improving access to basic healthcare for residents who face difficulties travelling to medical facilities due to the terrain and road connectivity in the area.
As part of the programme, Army personnel also conducted an awareness session for schoolchildren on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and personal hygiene. Students were briefed on basic emergency response and the importance of maintaining hygienic practices.
Residents participated in the camp and availed themselves of medical consultations and medicines.
The Army said such outreach activities are intended to support communities in remote areas and facilitate access to basic healthcare and health awareness.
