PAMPORE, July 30: Vyasa Purnima, revered as Guru Purnima, was celebrated with deep devotion and spiritual fervour at the historic shrine of Brahmarishi Swami Guru Maharaj Jeewan Sahib (Dhoni Sahib) in Ladhoo village of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.
Devotees and members of the Kashmiri Pandit community assembled at the revered 18th-century shrine to offer prayers, seek the blessings of the Guru, and participate in special puja rituals and spiritual discourses. The religious programme was organised by the Swami Jeewan Sahib (Dhoni Sahib) Mandir Prabandhak Trust, Ladhoo (Regd.).
Welcoming the devotees, General Secretary of the Trust, Ravi Ji Bhat, said Guru Purnima is a celebration of the eternal Guru–Shishya tradition, inspiring people to follow the path of truth, righteousness, devotion, compassion, selfless service, and spiritual enlightenment. He said the observance reflects the community’s continued commitment to preserving its spiritual heritage and carrying forward the timeless teachings of Brahmarishi Swami Guru Maharaj Jeewan Sahib.
Dr. Ramesh Kumar Bhat delivered a discourse on the life, spiritual legacy, and teachings of the revered saint, highlighting his enduring contribution to spiritual awakening and moral values.
Religious discourses were also delivered by Guru Pintu Ji Maharaj, Bansi Lal Bhat of South Kashmir, and Dileep Kathi from Delhi, who elaborated on the significance of Guru Purnima and the sacred bond between a Guru and disciple, Trust General Secretary Ravi Ji Bhat told Kashmir Convener.
The celebrations concluded with collective prayers for peace, communal harmony, prosperity, and the well-being of humanity, reaffirming the shrine’s enduring importance as a centre of faith, spiritual reflection, and the rich cultural heritage of the Kashmiri Pandit community.
