Pulwama Pencak Silat Athletes Shine at 14th National Championship

Pulwama, July 6: Athletes from South Kashmir’s Pulwama district delivered an outstanding performance at the 14th National Sub-Junior and Junior Pencak Silat Championship held in Nashik, Maharashtra, bringing home one gold, one silver, and three bronze medals.
Aalima Ashiq won the gold medal, while Usman Arif secured the silver medal. Aleema Ashiq, Taif Mir, and Bareek bagged bronze medals, showcasing the talent and determination of J&K’s young athletes.
The Championship was organised by Maharashtra Pencak Silat Association under the guidance of the Indian Pencak Silat Federation was held at the Indoor hall of Sarveshwar Mahadev Trust on Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar road Nashik.
A total of 1900 players from 28 States and 8 Union Territories competed across age categories including Singa Makaam, Pre-Teen, Sub Junior and Junior, Secretary District Pulwama Pencak Silat Association, Sajad Ahmad Bhat told Kashmir Convener.
The championship concluded recently with a grand closing ceremony in Nashik, Maharashtra, where participants from across the country competed in various categories.
Congratulating the medal winners, Secretary of the District Pulwama Pencak Silat Association, Sajad Ahmad Bhat, praised the athletes for their remarkable achievements.
