SHOPIAN, July 03: Continuing its sustained crackdown on illegal mining, Shopian Police seized three Dumpers and one JCB involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals from Berthipora area of the district.
During routine patrolling a police party from Police Post Berthipora intercepted and seized three Dumpers and one JCB involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals without mandatory permission. In this regard, FIR No. 67/2026 under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Keller and investigation has been set into motion.
Shopian Police reiterates its firm commitment to protecting the district’s natural resources and ensuring strict legal action against those involved in illegal mining. The general public is urged to cooperate by reporting any such unlawful activities. The identity of informants shall be kept strictly confidential.
