REC to Set Up 100 Smart Classrooms in Assam Government Schools Under CSR

Gurugram, July 3: REC Limited has sanctioned ₹4.22 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme to establish 100 smart classrooms in government schools across the Lakhimpur and Kaziranga regions of Assam.

An official spokesperson said the project aims to strengthen digital education by integrating smart learning solutions into classrooms and creating a technology-enabled learning environment for students.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the project was signed on July 2 at REC Limited’s corporate office in Gurugram between L.B. Nautiyal, Head of CSR, REC Limited, and B. Vinod Kumar, Director of the Indo German Institute of Advanced Technology (IGIAT).

The signing ceremony was attended by Arun Kumar Tyagi, Executive Director (CSR), REC Limited, along with officials from both organisations.

REC said the initiative reflects its continued commitment to improving education infrastructure through CSR. Besides education, the company supports projects in healthcare, skill development, environmental sustainability and community development to promote inclusive and sustainable socio-economic growth across the country.
