KULGAM, JUNE 06: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo today inaugurated and presided over a mega Job Fair at Malvan, organized by the District Administration Kulgam under Mission YUVA with the objective of promoting employment opportunities, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment.

The job fair witnessed the participation  companies from various sectors, providing a valuable platform for local youth to interact with employers, explore career prospects, and apply for suitable job opportunities.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister highlighted the importance of creating sustainable employment avenues for young people and reiterated the Government’s commitment towards youth welfare, skill development, and economic empowerment.

She encouraged the youth to actively avail the opportunities being provided under various government schemes and programmes aimed at enhancing employability and fostering entrepreneurship.

The Minister also interacted with representatives of participating companies, officials, and job seekers, and appreciated the efforts of the District Administration Kulgam in organizing the event and connecting local youth with prospective employers.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, highlighted the objectives of the programme and emphasized the need to create an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the district.

He stressed the importance of promoting a culture of innovation, enterprise, and skill development among the youth to enable them to become job creators rather than job seekers.

During the event, detailed awareness was imparted regarding various schemes and initiatives being implemented under Mission YUVA and other government programmes focused on skill development, entrepreneurship promotion, financial assistance, and livelihood generation. Officials informed participants about eligibility criteria, application procedures, and benefits available under these schemes.

Besides, students and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) set up stalls showcasing their products, innovations, and entrepreneurial ventures during the fair.

The programme was attended by senior officers of the district administration, representatives of participating companies, Mission YUVA officials, members of SHGs, students, and a large number of youth from across the district.
