Anantnag, June 5: Marking World Environment Day, 17 JKAP (IRP) APC organised a tree plantation drive at its headquarters in Kehrebal Mattan area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district as part of its commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.
The plantation drive was carried out under the supervision of Commandant Zahid Aziz Samoon. Officers and personnel of the battalion actively participated in the programme and planted saplings within the premises of the headquarters.
Speaking on the occasion, the commandant highlighted the importance of protecting the environment and increasing green cover to combat climate change and promote ecological balance. Participants pledged to continue contributing towards environmental protection through similar initiatives in the future.
The event reflected the battalion’s dedication to fostering environmental awareness and encouraging sustainable practices among its personnel and the community.
