REC Foundation Launches ₹1.20 Cr Mobile Healthcare Initiative in Meerut

New Delhi, May 21: REC Limited through its CSR arm REC Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College to strengthen doorstep healthcare delivery for underserved communities in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh.

An official spokesperson said the agreement, signed on Thursday entails financial assistance of ₹1.20 crore for the procurement and deployment of a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU), along with its operational support for a period of three years.

He said the initiative aims to improve access to primary healthcare services in remote and deprived areas, enabling timely medical assistance for populations with limited access to health facilities.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior dignitaries including MP Arun Govil and Principal of LLRM Medical College Ramesh Gupta, along with senior officials from REC Limited, including Director (Projects) TSC Bosh, Director (Finance) Rajesh Kumar, Executive Director (CSR) Arun Kumar Tyagi, and Head of CSR Bhupesh Chandolia.

Officials stated that the mobile unit will help deliver essential healthcare services at the doorstep, strengthening outreach and improving preventive and primary care coverage in the region.

The initiative forms part of broader CSR-driven efforts to enhance healthcare accessibility and support inclusive development across rural and semi-urban areas.
