Budgam, May 20: The 110 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force on Wednesday organised a free medical camp under the Civic Action Programme at Taingan Nowgam area of Budgam district, benefiting hundreds of local residents.
A large number of people from the area participated in the camp to avail healthcare facilities and seek medical consultation from the team of doctors deputed for the programme.
Officials said around 300 patients were provided free medical check-ups during the camp, while medicines were also distributed among the beneficiaries free of cost.
The camp was inaugurated by elderly women from the locality in the presence of Commandant 110 Battalion B. R. Meena, senior CRPF officers and local residents.
The medical team examined patients suffering from various ailments and provided necessary treatment, consultation and medicines on the spot.
Locals appreciated the initiative and described it as an important step towards improving access to healthcare facilities in the area, especially for people living in far-flung localities.
Residents said such outreach programmes help people receive basic medical services at their doorstep and reduce the burden of travelling long distances for treatment.
