Awantipora, May 17: Continuing the drive against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, a police party from Police Post Aripal headed by Incharge Police Post Aripal, Sub Inspector Zahoor Ahmad, laid a naka at a Darganiegund and intercepted two individuals found moving under suspicious circumstances identified as Bashir Ahmad Ganie S/O Gh. Qadir Ganie, R/O Dar Gani Gund and Mohd Yousef Ganie S/O Gh. Mohd Ganie, R/O Yangwani Aripal.
During the search, officers were able to recover 1.89 kgms of a Cannabis like substance from the possession of the accused persons.
Accordingly, a case FIR No.60 /2026 under relevant provisions of law has been registered at Police Station Tral and investigation has been taken up.
Awantipora Police remain committed towards making society drug free and continue to intensify efforts under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan to curb the menace of narcotics and ensure a safer and secure environment for the public.
