NM Hr Sec Students Visit Soil Testing Lab, Gain Hands-On Scientific Exposure

Bandipora, April 28: Students from Nadim Memorial Government Higher Secondary School (NM GHSS), Kaloosa, Tuesday participated in educational exposure visits to soil testing and scientific laboratories in the district, aimed at enhancing practical learning.

As part of the programme, students visited the Soil Testing Laboratory (STL) and SM Farm at Watapora, where they were briefed on the functioning and significance of soil analysis in agriculture.

Experts explained procedures for testing soil nutrient content and assessing soil health, highlighting the role of scientific methods in promoting sustainable farming practices, balanced fertilisation, and improved crop productivity.

The students also toured the farm, observing various agricultural practices and gaining insights into modern farming techniques. The visit focused on connecting theoretical knowledge with field-level applications in agriculture.

During the session, laboratory officials demonstrated analytical techniques used in scientific research, particularly in soil composition and nutrient analysis. Students actively engaged in the learning process by observing procedures and interacting with experts.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Tawheed Parvaiz Bhat and Dr. Shahid Haji, who supervised the practical sessions and emphasised the importance of scientific tools in research and education.

The  visit were aimed at bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, providing students with practical exposure to agricultural science and biotechnology. Officials said such initiatives are part of ongoing efforts to promote experiential learning and scientific awareness among students.

The programme concluded with interactive sessions, where students raised queries and shared feedback on their learning experience.
