Bandipora, April 17: Following fresh snowfall at Razdan Top, the 85-kilometer long Bandipora–Gurez road has been temporarily closed as a precautionary measure, officials said.

Authorities informed that nearly 3 inches of snow has accumulated at Razdan Top, making the road slippery and unsafe for vehicular movement. In view of prevailing weather conditions and forecasts of continued rain and snowfall, traffic on the strategic route has been suspended.

Officials advised commuters to avoid travel on the route until weather conditions improve and the road is declared safe. Snow clearance operations will be taken up once the weather permits.

Residents and travelers are urged to follow official advisories and cooperate with the administration during this period.
