GHSS Purana Tulail Releases Maiden Issue of School Magazine ‘MIRAAS’ in Gurez

Bandipora, April 10: Government Higher Secondary School, Purana Tulail (PTL), Gurez in Bandipora, Friday marked a significant academic milestone with the release of the maiden issue of its annual school magazine titled “MIRAAS”.

An official spokesperson said the release ceremony was held in the school premises with active participation of students, faculty members, School Management and Development Committee (SMDC) members, and other dignitaries.

The event began with a welcome address by Principal Hashim Hassan Bhat, who highlighted the importance of MIRAAS as a platform for fostering creativity, critical thinking, and literary expression among students.

The magazine, titled “MIRAAS” (meaning heritage), reflects the cultural legacy of the Gurez and Tulail valleys while showcasing the academic and creative talents of students. Speakers at the event appreciated the initiative, noting that it helps preserve local cultural identity while encouraging students to excel in academics, arts, and social responsibility.

The editorial team and student contributors were felicitated for their efforts in bringing out the first edition of the publication. The initiative was widely lauded as a step toward strengthening school-level literary and cultural activities in remote areas.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Principal Mohd Rafeeq, who acknowledged the efforts of the editorial team, contributors, and all stakeholders involved in making the magazine a success.

The release of MIRAAS was described as a new chapter in the institution’s journey toward academic excellence and cultural enrichment.
