Army’s 14 RR Hosts Iftaar Party in Bandipora

Bandipora, March 18: The Indian Army’s 14 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) on Tuesday organised an Iftaar party at its headquarters in Sonarwani area of Bandipora, with participation from civil administration, police officials and members of the local community.

According to officials, the event was hosted by the Commander of 3 Sector Rashtriya Rifles as part of outreach efforts during the holy month of Ramadan.

 Around 100 participants attended the gathering, including Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Senior Superintendent of Police Bandipora, Padma Shri awardee Faisal Ali Dar, senior district officials, media representatives and local residents.

The programme began with the breaking of the fast, followed by interactions between Army personnel and attendees.

Officials said the gathering provided an opportunity for participants to engage in discussions in an informal setting.

Participants shared the Iftaar meal and exchanged views on various issues during the interaction.

Officials said the event facilitated communication between security forces and members of the local community.

Officials said such outreach initiatives are aimed at maintaining cordial relation with the public and strengthening coordination between different stakeholders.

 They added that similar programmes are organised from time to time to promote interaction and mutual understanding.

Attendees included representatives from civil society, administration and police, along with local residents.

Participants said the event provided a platform for dialogue and exchange of ideas.

 Officials noted that community engagement programmes during occasions such as Ramadan help in maintaining communication and cooperation between security agencies and the public.

The Army said it will continue to organise such initiatives as part of its outreach activities in the region.
