New Delhi, February 2026: REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, will host three high-level thematic sessions and showcase artificial intelligence-driven innovations at the India AI Impact Summit and Expo 2026 to be held at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital.

The power sector financier will participate in the summit through strategic collaborations with international organisations, focusing on the intersection of artificial intelligence, energy transition and infrastructure financing.

On February 16, REC, in partnership with the International Solar Alliance (ISA), will convene a session titled “Global Mission on AI for Energy”, which will deliberate on building AI-enabled and citizen-centric power systems aimed at improving affordability and inclusivity in clean electricity access.

On February 17, in collaboration with the World Bank, REC will host a session on “The AI-Energy-Finance Trifecta”, examining the rapid expansion of energy-intensive data centres and discussing policy and financing frameworks required to support AI-driven energy optimisation and sustainable data-centre development.

A third session, scheduled for February 18 in partnership with FSR Global, will focus on the “India Energy Stack (IES) and the AI-Ready Power Sector”. The discussion will centre on developing an interoperable digital public infrastructure for the power sector to reduce integration costs and enhance consumer participation in energy systems.

A key announcement during the summit will be the launch of a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) energy trading initiative under the India Energy Stack framework. The proposed system will enable consumers, particularly rooftop solar users, to buy and sell surplus electricity directly through secure digital platforms, promoting decentralised energy markets and new revenue opportunities for households and small enterprises.

REC will also showcase AI-based solutions aimed at improving grid efficiency, enhancing utility performance and supporting India’s transition towards a digitally enabled and greener power sector at its pavilion in Hall 4 of the venue.

Officials said the company’s participation reflects a broader push to integrate advanced digital technologies with energy infrastructure financing as India expands its clean energy and smart grid ambitions.
