Bandipora, November 8: Bandipora Police on Friday launched a massive crackdown on J&K Nationals Operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (JKNOP) In a major operation to break the network of cross-border terrorism and subversive activities.

Senior Superintendent of Police Aijaz Ahmad Zargar told Kashmir Convener that the action followed specific intelligence inputs about local individuals acting on directions from their relatives currently based across the border.

These individuals were allegedly involved in facilitating, funding, and promoting terror-related activities in the district.

Officials said Police teams carried out multiple Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) in different parts of Bandipora district. The operations targeted those providing logistical support, spreading online propaganda, and helping in recruitment for terrorist organisations.

During the searches, police seized digital devices and incriminating materials that are believed to have been used in communication and coordination with handlers from across the Line of Control.

Several relatives and associates of active JKNOP members have been booked under relevant provisions of law for their role in aiding these networks. Police said the investigations are ongoing and more arrests are likely in the coming days.

SSP Zargar said that Bandipora Police remain committed to maintaining peace and security in the district. “Operations against terror support networks will continue with full intensity until they are completely dismantled,” he added.

The police also appealed to the public to cooperate and share any information about suspicious persons or activities. They assured that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
