J&K Assembly session begins in Srinagar with obituary references; Speaker pays tribute to late Leaders across political spectrum

Srinagar, Oct 23 (KINS): The autumn session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly commenced today in Srinagar with obituary references to several distinguished public figures who passed away recently. The session began on a solemn note, as the Speaker of the Assembly led the House in paying rich tributes to the departed leaders who had contributed significantly to the nation and public life in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Speaker as per news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) made obituary references to the demise of Satya Pal Malik, former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir; Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister; Dina Nath Bhagat, former MLA; Ghulam Nabi Shaheen, former MLC; Ramesh Arora, former MLC; Sardar Mohammad Akhlaq Khan, former MLC; and Mohammad Sultan Pandithpori, former Legislator.
The Speaker recalled their services and dedication towards the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, describing them as leaders who upheld democratic values and worked tirelessly for the region’s development. Members from both the ruling and opposition benches were present and joined in expressing their condolences.
The Speaker also conveyed sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls. (KINS)
