SHADIPORA (Bandipora), July 1: The Fire and Emergency Services Department on Tuesday conducted a mock drill and awareness programme at the Transit Yatra Camp in Shadipora to sensitise langar service providers, staff, and pilgrims about fire safety measures ahead of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025.
Officials demonstrated the use of firefighting equipment and briefed participants on evacuation procedures, safety protocols, and ways to minimise damage in case of a fire emergency. The exercise aimed to strengthen preparedness and ensure a swift response mechanism during the annual pilgrimage.
A dedicated fire service crew, along with firefighting vehicles and equipment, has been deployed at the Transit Camp and will remain stationed there throughout the Yatra period to ensure the safety of pilgrims and staff.
Authorities stressed the importance of vigilance and proactive safety practices, urging all stakeholders to cooperate in maintaining a secure environment during the pilgrimage.
