Srinagar, April 13, 2025: In a major political development, dozens of political workers, primarily from the National Conference and other regional parties, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today in a function at Nigeen Lake Zadibal area in Srinagar. The joining took place in the presence of senior BJP leader Hilal Jan, who welcomed the new members into the party fold.

The new entrants expressed deep dissatisfaction with their previous affiliations, stating that leaders of the National Conference and other regional parties have consistently prioritised the interests of their families, relatives, and close associates over the genuine aspirations of the people. They emphasized that their decision to join the BJP was driven by the party’s commitment to inclusive development, good governance, and a transparent political culture.

Speaking on the occasion, Hilal Ahmad Jan said, “The BJP stands for justice, equality, and true representation. People across Jammu and Kashmir are increasingly reposing faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the vision of the BJP. We welcome all those who wish to contribute to the betterment of the Union Territory with open arms.”

The joining of political workers at Zadibal marks yet another step in BJP’s growing grassroots presence in the Kashmir Valley and reflects the changing political landscape of the region.
