JKTF Welcomes Move to Remove Teachers from Admin Roles, Calls for Proper Implementation
Bandipora, Feb 28: Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) Bandipora has welcomed the recent directive issued by the Directorate of School Education, which cancels all teacher deployments in offices with immediate effect.
In a statement issued to Kashmir Convener, Forum’s Chief Spokesperson Anjum Nisar said Forum, However, expressed disappointment over the lack of implementation in Bandipora district, where many teachers continue to hold administrative positions, allegedly misusing their authority.
Anjum emphasized that despite the clear directive, some teachers in District Bandipora are still managing crucial responsibilities, including the Smart Attendance system, which he termed as “unfortunate.”
He pointed out that the district has capable officials within the non-teaching staff who can efficiently handle such responsibilities, yet administrative charges are still being assigned to teachers.
“We fail to understand why these charges are not given to the non-teaching officials, who are competent enough to handle them. The continuation of teachers in these roles is not only a violation of the Directorate’s order but also adversely impacts the education system,” Anjum stated.
He urged the Director of School Education to take immediate steps to ensure that all administrative responsibilities are assigned to non-teaching staff, allowing teachers to focus on their primary duty—educating students.
“We request the Director to ensure proper implementation of the order so that the education system in district Bandipora remains on track and functions efficiently,” Anjum added.
The teaching community and education stakeholders in Bandipora are now looking forward to swift action from the authorities to restore the integrity of the education system in the district.
