Hajin, Jan 26 : Amidst patriotic fervor and enthusiasm, the 76th Republic Day 2025 was celebrated across Sub-Division Sumbal with great zeal.
The main function took place at Irrigation Colony Sumbal, where SDM Sumbal, Murtaza Ahmad Sheikh, unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade, and took the salute during the march past.
SDPO Sumbal, BMO Hajin, HDO Sumbal/Hajin, AEOs from Hajin and Sumbal, sectoral officers, heads of various departments, and a large gathering of local residents participated in the celebrations.
The parade included contingents from the CRPF, J&K Police, NCC cadets, and students from various schools.
Addressing the gathering, the SDM extended heartfelt Republic Day greetings, paying tribute to the visionary leaders behind the Constitution and honoring the sacrifices of freedom fighters and martyrs who safeguarded the nation’s freedom and democracy.
The event featured vibrant cultural programs presented by students from different schools and artists from the Department of Art, Culture, and Languages, showcasing the region’s rich heritage and cultural diversity.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of awards for outstanding performances in the march past and cultural presentations. Employees from various departments were also felicitated for their exemplary contributions to public service.
Meanwhile, similar Republic Day celebrations were held at MC Hajin, where Tehsildar Hajin, Abdul Rouf Deva, hoisted the tricolor, adding to the spirit of patriotism across the region.
