Jammu, Jan 22: The Directorate of National Cadet Corps (NCC) Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on Thursday inaugurated a three-day interactive workshop on “Cyber First Responder Programme” for NCC cadets at PSPS GCW Gandhinagar.
An official spokesperson said the training workshop was organised in collaboration with United Service Institution, New Delhi (USI) and Cyber Peace foundation, which is a nominated Cyber Centre of Excellence.
Officials said the workshop is the initiative of Maj General Anupinder Bevli, Vishisht Seva Medal, Additional Director General of NCC Directorate of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh, who is the driving force behind this program to empower the cadets with requisite skills and certification.
Spokesperson said NCC, the country’s premier youth organisation, has been proactive in spreading awareness among citizens about important values and safety measures.
He said the aim of the “Cyber First Responder Program” is to educate young cadets and/or instructor staff on the concept of cybersecurity with solid foundational knowledge to raise their awareness about safe digital practices and risk prevention measures.
“These First Responders can then assume the role of Cyber Ambassadors with the power to shield the vulnerable, enlighten the unaware, and act as warriors against cyber threats,” he added.
The workshop is being conducted by Mr Deepak Yadav, who is a highly experienced Cyber Security Researcher and Master Trainer at the Cyber Peace Foundation. With over 7 years of expertise in the field, he specializes in digital forensics and network security.
He has played a pivotal role in strengthening cybersecurity awareness and skills, having trained over 40,000 government officials, including police personnel and law enforcement agencies, as well as more than 1 million students. His commitment to fostering a safer digital world continues to inspire and empower individuals and organizations across various sectors.
The workshop is being attended by Officers, PI staff, ANOs and 100 NCC cadets of first, second and third year from 14 different colleges, hailing from the districts of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Doda and Ramban. These empowered cadets will be Cyber Ambassadors and spread the knowledge amongst their peers, friends and family, thus empowering the society.
