Yamaha Flags Off ‘Xplore India on XSR’ Ride from Srinagar, Launches New Premium Showrooms in J&K

Srinagar, June 9: India Yamaha Motor (IYM) Pvt. Ltd. on Tuesday flagged off its nationwide “Xplore India on XSR” campaign from Srinagar, marking the beginning of a 21-day motorcycle journey covering nearly 6,000 kilometres across the country.

The ride, which starts in Jammu and Kashmir and concludes in Chennai after passing through Kanyakumari, is aimed at promoting motorcycle touring, rider engagement and community building. The route traverses several cities, including Attari, Ludhiana, Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Daman, Mumbai, Goa, Bengaluru, Kanyakumari and Coimbatore.

An official spokesperson of the company told Kashmir Convener that the campaign is being undertaken on Yamaha’s XSR155 motorcycle, a modern-retro sports model designed for touring and varied riding conditions. According to the company, the initiative seeks to bring together riders from different regions of the country while showcasing India’s diverse geography, culture and road conditions.

As part of the journey, participants will interact with Yamaha customers in multiple cities through XSR Café Ride events. The company said these engagements are intended to strengthen its Blue Streaks Community, a platform that connects Yamaha riders through shared riding experiences and brand engagement.

Yamaha officials said the campaign reflects the company’s focus on fostering rider communities and encouraging motorcycling beyond daily commuting. The ride will cover highways, mountain routes, urban roads and coastal stretches, offering riders an opportunity to experience different terrains and conditions.

The flag-off ceremony was held at Yamaha’s newest Blue Square showroom in Srinagar. The event also marked the inauguration of two premium Yamaha outlets — The Destination Yamaha and Speed Wings — in the presence of Mahendra Pratap, Vice President of Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd., dealer representatives and company officials.

With the addition of the two dealerships, Yamaha said Jammu and Kashmir now has eight exclusive Blue Square showrooms and a total of 19 customer touchpoints across the Union Territory.

The XSR155 is powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology and is built on Yamaha’s Deltabox frame. The motorcycle is also equipped with a Traction Control System (TCS) and an Assist and Slipper Clutch.

The company said the campaign aims to demonstrate the motorcycle’s performance, durability and versatility while highlighting Yamaha’s engineering capabilities through a long-distance ride across diverse terrain.
