Baramulla, Apr 25: Vinod Kumar on Saturday assumed charge as Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), North Kashmir Range (NKR), at the Range Police Headquarters in Baramulla.
He succeeds Maqsood-ul-Zaman, who has been posted as DIG Armed Police, Kashmir.
Upon taking charge, the DIG emphasised his commitment to ensuring transparent, accountable, and corruption-free policing. He also highlighted the importance of public trust, expressing confidence in strengthening police-public relations across the region.
Dr. Kumar reiterated his focus on maintaining peace and law and order in North Kashmir, while working towards more responsive and people-centric policing.
