Awantipora, November 5: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J.P. Nadda on Wednesday visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) site at Awantipora in south Kashmir and reviewed the progress of ongoing construction and related works.
During the visit, the Union Minister took stock of the project’s progress. The institution is expected to provide advanced healthcare facilities to people in Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, local residents expressed gratitude to Nadda for visiting the site and said the visit had raised hopes for the early completion and inauguration of the facility.
They said the operationalisation of AIIMS Awantipora would improve access to specialised healthcare services in the region and reduce the need for patients to travel outside Jammu and Kashmir for advanced treatment.
