SHOPIAN, June 10: Continuing its sustained crackdown against illegal mining activities, Shopian Police seized one Tipper, one JCB & one Tractor involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals from Zaniapora area of the district.
During routine patrolling a police party from Police Station Zainapora intercepted and seized JCB, Tipper and Tractor involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals without valid royalty documents. In this regard FIR No. 83/2026 has been registered at Police Station Zainapora under relevant sections of law. Investigation has been taken up.
Shopian Police reiterates its firm commitment towards safeguarding the district’s natural resources and ensuring strict legal action against individuals involved in illegal mining activities. The general public is urged to cooperate with the police by reporting any such unlawful activities. The identity of informants shall be kept strictly confidential.
