Shopian Police Organise District-Wide Plantation Drive on World Environment Day

SHOPIAN, June 05: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Shopian Police organised plantation drives across all police establishments of the district as part of its commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.

During the drive, around 1,000 ornamental saplings were planted at various police establishments, including District Police Office (DPO) and District Police Lines (DPL) Shopian. Officers and officials of Shopian Police actively participated in the initiative with enthusiasm.

At DPO Shopian, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shopian planted a sapling and highlighted the significance of World Environment Day. He emphasized that environmental protection is a shared responsibility and urged all ranks and citizens to contribute towards a greener, cleaner and healthier future through sustained plantation and conservation efforts.

The plantation drive aimed to promote environmental awareness, enhance green cover and encourage collective action towards ecological sustainability. Senior officers appreciated the active participation of personnel and reaffirmed Shopian Police’s commitment to supporting environmental and community welfare initiatives.
