SHOPIAN, June 27: Continuing its sustained efforts to eradicate the drug menace under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Shopian Police in collaboration with local residents conducted a special anti-narcotics drive in the jurisdiction of Police Station Imamsahib to identify and destroy wild cannabis growth.

During the drive, police teams conducted a thorough survey of various areas where wild cannabis plants were found growing naturally along roadsides, footpaths, agricultural land boundaries, irrigation channels and other unattended patches of land. The identified plants were uprooted and destroyed on the spot to prevent their misuse for the production or consumption of narcotic substances.

The initiative forms part of the ongoing efforts of Shopian Police under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan to eliminate potential sources of narcotic substances and promote a drug-free society. Shopian Police appeals to the general public to remain vigilant and report any instances of illegal cultivation, drug trafficking or substance abuse to the nearest police station. The district police remains committed to realizing the vision of a Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir through sustained preventive and enforcement measures.
