Shopian, July 25: Bilal Ahmad, JKAS, today reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming Independence Day Function 2026 to be held at Zainapora on 15 August 2026.
During the meeting, the SDM impressed upon all officers to ensure that the upcoming Independence Day is celebrated with great fervour, enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. Various assignments for the smooth and successful conduct of the function were entrusted to different departments.
The meeting was informed that the celebrations would include a colourful cultural programme, with students from different schools showcasing their talent through various performances. Besides cultural activities, awareness and discussion on the menace of drug abuse and other important social issues will also form part of the programme.
It was emphasised that the celebrations should provide a platform for students and the public to participate in various activities and highlight important issues concerning society. The participation of schools and different stakeholders will add further enthusiasm and meaning to the Independence Day celebrations.
The SDM emphasised that last year’s Independence Day celebrations at Zainapora were highly successful and witnessed great enthusiasm and participation from the public. He stressed that this year’s programme should also be organised with the same spirit and enthusiasm, so that more people are encouraged to participate in the celebrations and are inspired to celebrate Independence Day with patriotic fervour.
It was resolved that all necessary arrangements would be put in place for the smooth conduct of the function and that the celebrations on 15 August 2026 would be held with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
