According to an official statement, the transfer of the SPV was completed on May 30 after Dilip Buildcon Limited emerged as the successful bidder through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, which acted as the bid process coordinator for the project.
The transmission project will be developed under the Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) model and is scheduled for completion within 24 months.
The SPV was formally handed over by Monisha Barua, General Manager and Head of Department, RECPDCL, to Shree Dutta Tiwari, Vice President (Contracts), Dilip Buildcon Limited. It also comprises the construction of approximately 320 kilometres of 400 kV double-circuit transmission lines connecting Mekhali with Yalawar and Dhoni. In addition, around 130 kilometres of 220 kV double-circuit transmission lines will be developed linking Mekhali with Kuduchi, Aqueus and Mahilangapura.
The project further includes the Loop In Loop Out (LILO) of the 220 kV Mekhali–Chikodi-Mughalkod transmission line, along with associated infrastructure works necessary for power evacuation and transmission.
Officials said the project is expected to enhance transmission capacity and improve the reliability of electricity supply in the region by strengthening the state’s transmission infrastructure.
