PULWAMA, April 14: In a significant action against drug trafficking, Pulwama Police today conducted a successful raid in the Newa area following specific information.
A police party from PP Newa carried out a search at the residential house of Mohd Younis Sheikh son of Mohd Yousuf Sheikh, resident of Newa. During the search, approximately 110 grams of charas powder-like substance and 850 grams of charas (bang/boosa)-like substance were recovered and seized on the spot. During the operation, two accused persons namely Younis Ahmad Sheikh and Mahjabeena Akhter, both residents of Newa, Pulwama, were apprehended.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 53/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Pulwama, and further investigation has been taken up.
Pulwama Police reiterates its commitment to eradicate the menace of drugs from society and urges the public to share any information related to drug trafficking.
