Pulwama Police Apprehend Two Drug Peddlers; Contraband Recovered

PULWAMA, April 29: Continuing its sustained crackdown under the ongoing anti-drug campaign, Pulwama Police achieved a significant success by apprehending two drug peddlers and recovering contraband substances from their possession.

During routine naka checking at Khaigam, a police party from Police Post Sangerwani intercepted two suspicious persons on foot approaching from the Pakher side. They were later identified as Mohd Rafiq Khari son of Bashir Ahmad Khari, resident of Sonabanjer and Mohammad Manjour Jat son of Mohammad Moim Jat, resident of Jatbroua, Garmah Bazar (Bihar).

Upon their search, approximately 340 grams of ganja was recovered from the possession of the first accused, while 296 grams of ganja was recovered from the second accused. The contraband substance was seized on the spot after completing all legal formalities.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 70/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Rajpora, and investigation has been initiated. Both accused persons have been taken into custody.

Pulwama Police remains committed to its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and urges the general public to cooperate in eradicating the menace of drugs from society.
