Awantipora, June 18: Continuing its efforts against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Police Station Tral apprehended a drug peddler during naka checking at Amirabad, Tral.
During naka checking, a police party of Police Station Tral headed by Inspector Tajamul Islam, SHO PS Tral, intercepted one person identified as Mohd Sultan Sofi S/O Gh. Nabi Sofi R/O Dadasara, Tral. Upon his search, 1 kg 165 grams of Poppy Straw was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly a Case, FIR No. 76/2026 has been registered at Police Station Tral under relevant sections of law, and investigation has been taken up.
Police have reiterated their commitment to eradicate the menace of drugs and urged the public to cooperate by sharing information regarding drug peddling and substance abuse in their areas. Continuous action against drug traffickers and peddlers will remain a priority under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan.
