Srinagar, Sep 18: Jammu and Kashmir Police Director General Nalin Prabhat on Friday told newly selected officers of the J&K Police (Gazetted) Services that wearing the uniform was “not an easy task” and that it carried a responsibility that must be discharged with honesty, loyalty and patriotism.
Speaking at Lok Bhavan here, where Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha handed over appointment orders to the newly selected candidates, DGP Prabhat as per Kashmir Convener said the day was one of happiness for the recruits and their families, but also marked the beginning of a serious responsibility.
“Uniform is our responsibility. We have to work with honesty, loyalty and patriotism while wearing this uniform,” the DGP said.
Acknowledging the challenges that lie ahead for the young officers, Prabhat said they would encounter situations involving risks to their lives during their service. He, however, assured them that training at the police academy would prepare them to meet every challenge and emerge stronger, both mentally and physically.
“You will be trained in such a way that you will be able to stand the test on every front, mentally as well as physically,” he said.
DGP Prabhat said he would interact with the officers in greater detail once they join the academy, and wished them success in their new journey of service.
