Pratham Sindhu Kumbh: 30th Sindhu Darshan Yatra Begins in Leh with International Participation

Leh, June 22: The much-awaited Pratham Sindhu Kumbh – 30th Sindhu Darshan Yatra commenced with grandeur in Leh, bringing together thousands of devotees, dignitaries, spiritual leaders and international representatives in a celebration of faith, culture and national unity.

The auspicious welcome ceremony was held at the NDS Memorial Ground, where more than 3,500 participants gathered to mark the beginning of the mega spiritual and cultural event. The inauguration gained international significance with the presence of ambassadors from eight countries, including Fiji, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, Ecuador, Chile and Ireland.

The event showcased India’s cultural diversity through vibrant performances by artists from the North Zone Cultural Centre and cultural groups from various states, reflecting the spirit of “One Nation, One Culture.”

Among the prominent dignitaries present was Indresh Kumar, National Executive Member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, along with Rupesh Kumar, religious leaders from different faiths, representatives of social organizations and public figures from across the country.

The ceremony was also attended by office bearers of the Sindhu Darshan Yatra Samiti, including Muralidhar Makhija, Bhupinder Kansil and Parmjit Singh Gill.

Addressing the gathering, Indresh Kumar emphasized the importance of national unity, cultural heritage and the values that bind the nation together. He called for preserving India’s civilizational identity while strengthening the spirit of harmony and collective responsibility.

The Sindhu Darshan Yatra, now in its 30th edition, continues to symbolize the spiritual and cultural significance of the historic Indus River, celebrating India’s ancient heritage, pluralistic traditions and enduring connection with the sacred river.

The multi-day event is expected to feature religious ceremonies, cultural programmes and interactions aimed at promoting national integration, cultural exchange and spiritual awareness in the Himalayan region of Ladakh.
